What I do

I make stuff happen!
Whether it’s through Exec Coaching, leadership development, team observations or project leadership, I help people create forward momentum and achieve their goals.
With 20+ years of experience within the commercial sector and in a variety of markets, I have both been part of Exec Leadership Teams and coached those on ELTs.
I am passionate about providing ‘early career’ support to help our future leaders become more ‘aware’ and to build their ‘leadership presence’ early on in their careers.

How I use RLE

For me, the RLE forms a fundamental part of a 1-2-1 coaching relationship, allowing the coachee to measure their progress objectively over time. I also embed the RLE and the RLDP into my coaching programmes with my early careers groups. The RL Assessment provides them with a clear starting point, the Challenge Engine helps them practise new ways within the working environment, and the Feedback Engine provides them with invaluable input from their colleagues.
Personally, I continue to use the RLDP for my own development – constantly challenging myself to seek growth in new areas and become a better leader and a better person.

Nicole Horst

What I do

I am a Researcher Development Associate with the University of Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning and Postdoc Academy. I help to manage a professional development programme for postdoctoral researchers, drawing on insights from over a decade-and-a-half of personal experience in postgraduate and postdoctoral academic research to inform my approach. My overall aim is to ensure that postdocs have the resources they need to support them in their current roles, as well as to prepare them for the next stage of their career journeys.

How I use RLE

Postgraduate research prepares early career researchers in the knowledge and skills needed to conduct, analyse, and publish their work. I intend to use the RLE to help postdocs develop their leadership capabilities in preparation for research independence or transitions to careers in other sectors. Given the high pressure nature of academia, I am particularly interested in helping postdocs in establishing effective resilient decision making skills, supported by the other elements and facets of the RLE.

I currently use the RLE to provide one-to-one coaching support for early career researchers. I plan to incorporate aspects of the RLE into training within our Researcher Development programme.

What I do

I deliver leadership development to senior managers and executives either in teams or through 1:1 coaching. My leadership journey has involved over 30 years of working in management as a Director/ Managing Director in a range of UK and International companies. My personal experience was that leadership is difficult and confusing. Many managers are thrust into leadership roles with little effective training and are expected to learn on the job. My operational experience enables me to provide practical based development support for people and organisations.

How I use RLE

In bespoke development programmes for teams and individuals I use the RLE to provide a comprehensive framework to analyse leadership practice, bringing clarity and insight to what is happening in their workplace. The RLE development tool is then used to provide bespoke programmes to grow leadership skills and improve team performance.

What I do

I support women leaders to set strong foundations in physical wellbeing from which resilience can grow and thrive. I help women leaders to supercharge energy, optimise their hormones and get cortisol in control so they can lead confidently through uncertainty; through business as usual and through times of crisis, without their own health being compromised. I deliver this through a transformational combination of nutrition and lifestyle medicine alongside leadership development.

How I use RLE

I use the RLE framework to position and demonstrate the value of physical wellbeing, and show how 'good health' is so much more than the absence of illness, but the foundation on which we can perform better and be ready to lead through change and uncertainty. I do this through delivering keynotes, workshops as well as running a 1-2-1 practice. My signature She Thrives™ programme brings together all these aspects, either 1-2-1 or as a larger workplace development programme. All programmes include the option to include the RLDP™, to give tailored support and see measurable outcomes.

Steven Garrod

What I do

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some great people over the years. The things I’ve learned from them can, and have, been applied to build stronger teams, develop resilient leaders and produce measurable improvements, including profitable business growth.
Over the last 30 years, I’ve worked with a wide range of organisations, from global companies to European institutions to small businesses. While my early work revolved around developing plans and processes designed to build organisational resilience, I saw that this could be either vastly improved or completely undermined (or somewhere between the two) by the quality of the leadership in the organisation. Consequently, I became increasingly more interested in helping people develop and practise their management, communication and team building skills. So, quite simply, that’s what I do now.
Whether you’re new to leadership, looking for your next role, or maybe looking for better results in your current role, get in touch and let’s explore how I can help.

How I use RLE

I’m about real-world application, not just theory for the sake of it; change comes from real people, doing real things, in real time. And that’s the great thing about the Resilient Leaders Elements (RLE) framework and the Resilient Leaders Development Programme (RLDP) that underpins it.
Over 20+ years, RLE has been refined to focus on those areas where the behaviour of one person makes a significant difference to the behaviour of another, whether those people are leaders, managers, colleagues, friends or family.
I use the RLDP assessment tool with my clients to identify opportunities for their growth and then coach them through a series of practical activities, individually or in groups, to maximise their learning and speed their development.

Mandy Preville-Findlay

What I do

I am a development coach, focused on personal and career improvement with over 21 years of experience in facilitating growth through exploration and reflection. As Director of Preville-Findlay Development Ltd, I ask questions others may shy away from, build on, and strengthen, attitudes to risk and challenge entrenched ideologies and learnt behaviours that impact negatively on attaining one’s preferred future. By providing space for storytelling and analysis and avenues to 'be' not just 'do’, I support clients to discover creative avenues for self and professional enhancement.

How I use RLE

I use RLE to support my clients to develop a language of being, understanding and leadership that is intrinsically linked to actions for a purpose and to support individual and group reflections geared to build forward thinkers. I believe that we can more easily become what we see and support work within the diversity, equity, inclusion and justice sphere. As I draw from the view that everyone everywhere has a story that someone somewhere needs to hear, I use the RLE facilitate the shaping of personal experiences into unique stories for development.

What I do

I am a values driven Assistant Headteacher who thrives developing others through mentoring and coaching. I have a desire to ensure schools are truly inclusive and representative and therefore have a passion to support and empower women and diverse leaders to lead in education. I do this both within my organisation and as a WomenEd network leader.

How I use RLE

RLE has helped shape me professionally and personally. I started to use RLE during a time of a significant change within my professional and personal life. The RLE has helped me to identify my strengths and learn more about my areas of development. Through the strength engine and mantra, I was able to acknowledge what I was good at. Through the challenge engine, I was able to work on my areas of development strategically without feeling overwhelmed. The RLE has helped me seek support and ask for help, which I know acknowledge is not a sign of weakness but in fact, a sign of my strength as a leader.

I am a talent development specialist and leadership development coach with over 25 years of experience. My background is in corporate having worked for 2 very large multinational companies designing and running development programmes all over the world. I am a professionally trained coach with ICF accreditation.

How I use RLE

I have worked with the RLE for almost 10 years. I have used it as core material for transformational leadership development programmes; one on one coaching and group coaching. I prefer the RLE over other leadership frameworks because of its very specific approach to resilience and change. Through the years, with the RLE as a tool, I have helped clients ground themselves in self-belief; get clear on what to do next; find the courage to take action; develop the confidence and resilience to sustain change; be visible; feel strong; be happy and make a difference.

What I do

I deliver innovation and collaboration skills training for STEM researchers, alongside a personal passion in wellbeing programmes, which underpins professional success.

How I use RLE

The RLDP has become an intrinsic part of two programmes. My 'Human Factors' programme, developing entrepreneurial researchers so they are ready to lead a team when commercialising their research. And Leadership in Action, for Postdoctoral staff developing their leadership skills. Anna Hemmings MBE OLY

What I do

I am a leadership coach specialising in resilience, leadership and high performance. My background is from the world of elite sport, where I competed in 2 Olympic Games and won 6 world championships in marathon kayak racing. I have become adept at translating the lessons that I learned in sport into the business world to help leaders build resilience and sustain high performance despite the many pressures. My unique combination of experience in sport combined with 11 years leading a successful training consultancy gives me a broad understanding of the challenges that individuals, teams and leaders face and how to overcome them to maximise performance.

How I use RLE

As an accredited coach, I help leaders at any stage of their development utilise the RLDP to develop in the 4 elements of the RLE model, resulting in increased confidence, ability to perform effectively under pressure, and bounce back from adversity and maximise their impact as resilient leaders.
I used the RLE Model in bespoke leadership and team development programmes. I use the RLEs comprehensive framework to develop individuals and teams leadership capability and determine measurable growth.
In conjunction with RLE, I use C-Me colour profiling to assist leaders in their awareness of their strengths, communication and behavioural preferences and improve their relationships with others and the way they lead.
I also use RLE alongside other assessments such as the 5 Behaviours Team Development to help leaders drive team effectiveness and productivity.
